From Rage to happiness in an hour – #FridayFinds
We dropped into Rage Flame Grilled Restaurant in Blackrock to try out their ‘Express Lunch’ menu. One of us finished licking his fingers (Double Rodeo Wings) whilst the other got covered in cream (Double Penne Pasta)… A success in our book!
Hidden just off the main street in Blackrock, across from the library and Blackrock Further Education Institute lies Rage Flame Grilled Restaurant. Opened on November 14th 2015, it’s as if it has been there for years. Immediately after walking in I sensed the casual vibe and felt immediately welcomed. the stylish interior was right up my street and the big spray-painted mural in the back was a cool touch.
We fancied a quick lunch and found out about their Express Lunch menu. Any main course and a side order for a tenner! Sorted. There was plenty to choose from; pasta, wraps, ciabatta sangys (Urban Dictionary = sandwiches) and also full stack burgers which all sounded delish! There are also two salads for the rabbit foodies or carb conscious.
It wasn’t too busy so service was on the ball. I went for the Double Penne Pasta with wedges, and the other fella went for his staple of Chicken Wings… Double Rodeo Wings and fries no less! I am always weary of creamy pasta unless done properly with egg whites but I went for it. I was pleasantly surprised! The sauce was much lighter than expected and although a bit on the ‘liquidy’ side, I enjoyed every bite and polished off the plate. It came with chicken, bits of bacon and two slices of homemade garlic bread… the perfect compliment. Portion size was great too, and the carb filled lunch left me stuffed!
Eoin went for the hottest flavour of wings available and devoured the lot. It as spicy as it could have been, but being chicken wing seasoned veteran, he expects it to give most people a right aul kick! The portion size was ample and he wasn’t left hungry at the end, although by the look of him he could have kept going all day!
Lunch times were 12pm – 4pm Thursday and Friday only. Great spot to finish off a hard week’s work.
