Craft Beer and Nautical Boogie at The Beatyard
This Saturday July 30th sees the beginning of The Beatyard festival at Dun Laoghaire harbour for the second time (previously hosted in multiple venues across Dublin’s city centre). Taking place at the former Stena Line ferry terminal, festival organisers have been busy transforming the dull disused space into a colourful, eclectic outdoor venue. Think music festival but minus the mud and tents.
According to Bodytonic, the team behind it, The Beatyard is “Everything that’s good & great in the world of food, drink, tech, science, music, games, sports, arts, design & discussion”. We’re sold.
There’s lots going on, but not sure what you should check out? Here are some of the highlights you can find us at:
Saturday Music: Boney M, Lee Scratch Perry, Tensnake
Sunday Music: George Clinton Parliament Funkadelic, Jape, Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires
Comedy: Hugh Cooney, Rubberbandits
Food: Box Burger, Big Blue Bus, Pitt Bros
Drink: Lagunitas, Rascals, Kinnegar, 3FE, Black Castle
Other: Draw with Don Conroy, Billie’s Bingo, Adventure Rooms, Retro Gaming
There’s so much more going on though, so we recommend getting there early to check out everything. Oh, and show up hungry and thirsty. It’ll be worth it!
Check out the video below to see how it went down last year.
Last we heard there was only about 800 tickets left per day.. so make sure to grab yourself a pass and get your bad self down to the sunny southside to boogie the long weekend away. See ya there!
