The Beatyard is back and we’re ready to boogie!
The Beatyard festival is back this Saturday and Sunday (August 5th & 6th) at Dun Laoghaire harbour for the third year in a row. Taking place at the former Stena Line ferry terminal (where I’m sure many of us headed off to Holyhead from as a child!), the Bodytonic team have been busy transforming the dull disused old space into a colourful, eclectic outdoor venue. Think boutique music festival but minus the mud and tents. Delightful!
With music headliners such as Mark Ronson & Air, games, demos, workshops, a wide range of delicious food vendors from Eatyard, a kids zone and a street food competition, Beatyard is all about music, fun, food and nautical boogie. We are sold!
There’s a serious amount going on over the weekend, so we’ve selected a number of a our personal highlights that you may bump into us at:
Saturday Music: Mark Ronson, Zaska, Disco É Cultura, Bananarama
Sunday Music: Air, Soulé, Mama Kasbah, Morcheeba
Food & Drink: Box Burger, Big Blue Bus, Veginity, Teddy’s Ice Cream, Cloud Picker Coffee, Brewtonic Bar, Dingle Gin
Other: Bingo Loco, Draw with Don Conroy, Fin Ní Fhaoláin, Colin Harmon, Two Sisters Brew, Bernard Shaw Flea
There’s so much more going on though, so we recommend getting there early to check out everything. Oh, and make sure to show up hungry and thirsty too. It’ll be worth it!
Check out this amazing little Lego video the Beatyard and Studio9 Projects team put together for the weekend.
Last we heard Sunday and kids tickets are likely to sell out very soon.. so make sure to grab yourself a pass and get your bad self down to the sunny southside to boogie the long weekend away. See ya there!
